Engagements range from traditional strategy projects to implementation support, at times including the development of customized software tools based on in-house market models. We help banks, utilities and other energy-related firms to establish complete physical and financial trading operations to support hedging and/or position trading activities in power and gas markets. We have also supported, from top to bottom, the creation of new services, such as portfolio management, and products in response to industry transformations.

Our experience in identifying and developing new products and services includes:

• Worked with a leading European bank to create a presence in the physical European power markets. Created business models for strategic alternatives leading to the development of clearing and brokerage services for a new electricity market exchange. Assisted in execution of strategy, including modifying financial risk management processes to physical power markets, and process and systems implementation. 
• Worked with regulators and industry players in the US in the design of OASIS, an independent system for managing and scheduling power delivery.
• Worked with a regional utility (IOU) to develop trading operations and portfolio management services as described in more detail in the case study of portfolio management.
